Position:
- Professional dog walker with the ability to walk up to three dogs at one time, transport up to three dogs, and manage up to five dogs off-leash in a private fenced area.
- This position is intended to provide supplemental income, not a full-time income.
- Our hours of operation are 8 am -6 pm, Monday through Sunday, except for some major holidays.
- MON-FRI 12-5pm
- TUE-THU 11am-4pm & SAT-SUN (variable hours)
- We service the communities of Deerfield, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park, Kenilworth, Northbrook, Wilmette, and Winnetka.
- Holidays off.
- All staff members are W2 employees.
$20 / hour (before bonuses or client gratuity)
$1600 - $2000 / month
- Incremental increase in pay based on ability and longevity. Staff working with Canine Care for multiple years earn up to $30 / hour.
- Work assigned will be based on staffing levels, performance, and client demand.
- 67 cents/mile driven for work
- All materials provided (leashes, dog waste bags, supplies to convert a car for transport of dogs)
- Paid Time Off (sick leave and/or scheduled)
- Provide safe and engaging dog walking services from client residences, performing group walks, of up to three dogs for durations of 30/45/60 minutes.
- We drive dogs to walk with other dogs and in set locations. Driving is a critical task for this position. In some cases, you may drive alone; in others, you may transport up to three dogs.
- Provide feedings, medications, and freshwater as requested.
- Health and safety checks for the dogs and their homes.
- Clean up dog waste as needed (on walks or in client homes).
- Use our industry software to manage your schedule and provide clients with excellent customer service.
- An honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who understands the importance of canine enrichment and proper socialization.
- The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.
- Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important. We have a fantastic paid training program.
